Bob Dylan Behind The Picture Frame


豪華本のジェネシス(Genesis)がディランの直筆サイン入りのプリント(写真)を販売するそうだ




1962年から1966年までの間から10種類の写真が選ばれおり、各25枚が販売される。プリントはナンバリングされフレーム入りで1,900ポンド(35万円)。10種類の写真をまとめた特別なボックス(The Complete Collection)も販売されるようで、こちらは「要問い合わせ」となっている。




1. Folk City, 1962 - Photographed by David Gahr

An onstage appearance photographed by David Gahr. The location: Gerde's Folk City, where Dylan made his Greenwich Village debut and first performed compositions such as 'Blowin' In the Wind'.









2. Greenwich Village, 1963 - Photographed by Jim Marshall

The late Jim Marshall took this portrait on the street one Sunday morning when, in Marshall's words, "Bobby, his girlfriend Suze Rotolo, Dave Van Ronk and Terri Van Ronk all were going to breakfast".









3. Newport Folk Festival, 1963 - Photographed by Jim Marshall

Backstage at the festival where, on 26th July, Dylan's set lists included 'With God On Our Side', 'Talkin' John Birch Paranoid Blues', 'A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall' and 'Blowin' In The Wind'.

Recording the third studio album. Work began on 6th August 1963 and continued into the autumn. The eventual release, the following January, included the classic ballad 'Boots of Spanish Leather'.








6. Another Side of Bob Dylan, 1964 - Photographed by Sandy Speiser

This enduring image forms the cover for Another Side of Bob Dylan, released August 1964. Columbia's staff photographer, Sandy Speiser, captured this iconic portrait near Times Square, New York.








7. Princeton NJ, 1964 - Photographed by Daniel Kramer

"I have always admired his courage," says Daniel Kramer who spent time on the road during 1964-65, and photographed the covers for Bringing It All Back Home and Highway 61 Revisited.








8. Biograph, 1965 - Photographed by Daniel Kramer

This is a rare outtake from a studio session with Daniel Kramer. An alternate colourised portrait from the same day appeared twenty years later, on the cover of the 1985 Biograph box set.








9. Columbia Records, New York, 1965 - Photographed by Don Hunstein

Sunglasses set aside, with a Fender Jazz Bass in hand. This portrait was taken between sessions for Blonde On Blonde. Completed in Nashville, the album is ranked one of the greatest of all time.









10. Royal Albert Hall, 1966 - Photographed byBarry Feinstein

The last night of 1966's legendary world tour was performed in London. "On the way to the Albert Hall," photographer Feinstein recalled, "all these people were trying to get a glimpse. He was oblivious. They were in awe.
